Artwork theorist Robert Vischer argued that when we look at a portray, we "truly feel ourselves into it" by imagining our body from the posture of a nonhuman or inanimate item while in the painting. For example, the painting The Lonely Tree by Caspar David Friedrich displays a tree with co
